Did you see this? Nvidia + OpenAI shake-up, ChatGPT ads (Target + Adobe), Google AI for Team USA, plus US regulation and court updates
Hi Friend,
I’m in New Orleans, Louisiana this week, soaking up the last of the Mardi Gras magic – beads still draped in the trees and hanging from every fence.
EO first invited me to lead an AI workshop (were are covering operations and GEO/AI SEO). Then a member asked me to facilitate a private AI strategy session for their local business. And now I’m wrapping the trip with a keynote and panel discussion for marketing leaders in the area.
There’s something special about being here in person – real conversations, real connection, and real momentum around what’s possible with AI.
This week’s AI news is a mix of opportunity and accountability. On the business side: new ad inventory inside ChatGPT, real performance gains from Google AI in sports training, and healthcare imaging workflows getting smarter. On the reality-check side: the policy conversation in the US is heating up, and courts are making it crystal clear that humans are still responsible for what AI produces.
Here’s what to keep on your radar.
Nvidia and OpenAI’s headline deal gets messy, and that matters for anyone betting on the AI supply chain
Futurism reports that Nvidia’s widely discussed $100 billion deal with OpenAI has fallen apart, pointing to how quickly big AI infrastructure plans can change. Reuters also reported Nvidia was close to finalizing a $30 billion investment in OpenAI as part of a massive funding round, which would supersede that earlier plan. (This is a reminder that even “sure things” in AI infrastructure can shift fast.)
My take: If you build your products, pricing, or delivery timelines on assumptions about model costs and compute availability, this is your nudge to add flexibility. In 2026, “vendor concentration risk” is not just a finance phrase—it’s a product strategy issue.

OpenAI brings advertisers into ChatGPT, and big brands are already in
OpenAI has launched an advertising pilot in ChatGPT for free users and the Go plan, with early advertisers including Target, Adobe, Audible, HelloFresh, Ford, and more. OpenAI says ads will be clearly labeled and will not influence chatbot responses.
My take: This is a new kind of intent marketing. People are not “searching” the same way—they’re asking for help deciding. Even if you’re not running ads, you should treat your best FAQs, comparisons, and “how to choose” content like revenue assets. Are you curious about these ads? We sure are, we’ll let you know more as they become available to us mere mortals.

Google AI helps Team USA skiers and snowboarders sharpen performance with smarter video analysis
CNET covered how Team USA’s Olympic skiers and snowboarders got an edge from Google AI. Google also shared details on an AI-powered training tool built with Google Cloud that uses video analysis to help athletes hone tricks and technique.
My take: The business takeaway is not “sports are cool.” It’s that AI is getting better at turning unstructured inputs like video into coaching, scoring, and measurable improvement. If you have customer calls, product demos, service visits, training videos, or any operational footage, this is the direction things are going.
As a former pro-snowboarder myself, I absolutely love watching the Olympics and see the progression of the sport. I wish that we had tech like this back in the day! It could have saved me form getting many injuries I’m sure.

Healthcare win: GE HealthCare gets FDA clearance for next-gen MRI tech, including AI-enabled workflow support
GE HealthCare announced U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance for three new SIGNA MRI innovations, including SIGNA One, described as an AI-enabled workflow ecosystem designed to streamline MRI exams.
My take: Have you every waited for an MRI? To get the results? I’m still waiting till mid March to get into the sports Dr. to get my official results read from an MRI that was done Dec. 26th for an injurly that happened on July 1st! We NEED to improve these processes. I did drop the MRI into AI to have it tell me what I needed to tell my trainer at the gym to best help me work out and not irritate the injurly.
This is the kind of AI that businesses should love: it targets throughput, consistency, and operational friction. If you’re choosing where to apply AI inside your company, look for places where time gets lost in handoffs, scheduling, rework, and documentation.

MIT Labs: soft robots that learn once, then adapt without retraining
MIT News shared a new AI control system that enables soft robotic arms to learn a wide repertoire of motions and then adjust to new scenarios on the fly without needing retraining.
My take: This points to the next wave of automation: not just robots that repeat, but robots that handle variation safely. This fits in the “AI doing my laundry” category, everyday we hear how you want a household robot to help with the mundance chores of everyday life – dishes, laundry, washing the windows.

US regulation plus court issues: transparency expectations are rising fast
Financial Times reports the White House is pressuring Utah Republicans to withdraw HB 286, the Artificial Intelligence Transparency Act, which would require AI companies to implement and disclose public safety and child protection plans.
Separately, Reuters reported the U.S. 5th Circuit sanctioned a lawyer $2,500 after a brief contained fabricated or seriously misrepresented citations tied to AI use, underscoring that professionals must verify AI outputs. He’s lucky he wasn’t disbarred.
My take: You don’t need to be a lawyer or a regulated company to learn from this. If your team uses AI for anything that could become a claim, a promise, a contract, a policy, or a public statement, you need a simple review habit and a documented process. It’s one of the cheapest risk reducers you can implement this quarter. Have a folder in your One Drive or Google Drive that contains all training instructions for any agents/customGPTs or the like. You’ll have a head start on compliance with something easily availble to your whole team.

Worth a skim: AI in defense and aerospace (company roundup)
The global space economy hit $626 billion in 2025 and is on track to exceed $1 trillion by 2034, driven primarily by the growing focus on defense and sovereignty. Meanwhile, NASA is making strides in expanding the medical knowledge needed for long-term space travel, with ISS astronauts performing live cardiovascular monitoring and psychological evaluations to gear up for missions into deep space.
My take: Even if you’re not in these industries, this is helpful for tracking where AI investments are moving first: sensing, situational awareness, autonomy, and decision support.
Did you know that the oh so hot red lights, were first used by NASA?! In early space life, they discovered that wounds would take a very long time to heal in zero gravity, but those who did gardening in space under the grow lights, wounds would heal faster. The lights were typically 2 different types of light, red and white. This tech was used early on for horses, and in other areas where there was more money for advanced solutions.
My physical therapist was using these lights over 25 years ago when I’d go for all of my snowboarding injuries. If only I’d started selling them online back then!

Build Apps & Films Without Writing Code 🛠️
Look at what is going on over in the Google Lab! If you have a Google Workspace, you can get the earliest access to their new fun tools. Think you need an engineering degree to build an app or animate a video? Think again. We went hands-on with three massive new tools from Google Labs:
🎨 Mixboard: The Ultimate AI Concepting Canvas
Forget standard text prompting. Mixboard is an infinite, open-ended canvas for visual brainstorming. It allows you to drag, drop, combine, and doodle to generate and refine ideas visually.
- The Magic Moment: The “Transform” button automatically reads the context of your chaotic mood board and turns it into a fully formatted, beautifully designed presentation deck.
- Who it’s for: Designers, marketers, and anyone who thinks better visually.

🎬 Flow: AI Filmmaking & Storyboarding
Flow brings a “show and tell” philosophy to video generation. It operates almost like a mini-simulator for your scenes, allowing you to manipulate video using text, reference images, and even simple sketches.
- The Magic Moment: You can literally draw on a still video frame (for example, sketching a new window on a brick wall or armor on a cat), and Flow will seamlessly integrate that change into the moving video, complete with updated lighting and physics.
- Who it’s for: Directors, storyboard artists, and video creators who want precise control over AI generation.

🛠️ Opal: Zero-Code AI App Building
Opal democratizes agent building. It translates your natural language ideas into functional mini-apps by chaining together different AI models and tools (like live web search) through an intuitive visual editor.
- The Magic Moment: You can start by simply typing what you want (e.g., “an app that looks at my fridge and gives me recipes”), and Opal automatically builds the multi-step workflow. You can even test-drive a lighter version of Opal directly inside Gemini Gems.
- Who it’s for: Non-technical builders, founders, and anyone wanting to automate repeatable daily tasks.
